The appellation’s identity is defined by four remarkable soil types: the iconic galets roulés, which yield deep and structured wines; sand and safres, responsible for the most elegant and silky expressions; limestone and fractured rock, bringing freshness and minerality; and red clay, ideal for powerful, long‑lived cuvées.
With 13 permitted grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Roussanne, and Clairette, the region offers extraordinary diversity and complexity.
